Whoot! This is a Lone Ranger episode with none other than Deforest Kelley, Star Trek’s Dr. McCoy! He’s 29 years old in this episode! This is for fans and is in no way made for profit.

@grandehillusion i agree, i just took a chance typing lone ranger on youtube, i love the screen taking tonto away making jay silverheels disappear before the next scene.
i never knew it went back to 1949, radio plays yes, were these taken and adapted for the television series and oh and thank you for allowing us to remember or for the first time see these i liked it very much even with the bullets flying thy’res a innocence and escapism to these, i love that aspect of earlier tv productions
Was this anything like HBO’s Deadwood?
ARIZONA NEEDS THE LONE RANGER NOW!!
Deforest Kelley (the fella who is first seen in town asking where someone was who was supposed to meet him) went on to be the doctor “McCoy” from 1966 to 1969 in the origional star trek series.
According to Wikipedia, Tonto was the son of a Potawatomi Chief, and his name is translated “wild one”. It was derrived from Tonto Basin, Arizona.
As a child, I had always heard that “kemosabe” meant “foolish friend”. But according to Wikipedia, it is the Potawatomi word for “faithful friend” or “trusty scout”.
Isn’t Kelley’ voice great? Back then, they had to learn to throw their voice in theaters, to be heard in the balcony. Rare these days.
I’m not sure. It’s something wrong with the dvd. It does it on the tv as well.
4:41 what happened to the screen
wow… Carolyn Dowling (De’s wife) was so lucky!
Thank you so much for sharing =)
Yeah, ya know, someone told me that once before. It always bothered me. Seemed kind of mean.
a funny comentary , in spanish TONTO means dummy ,fool, that`s why in latinamerican version of the lone ranger show they call him TORO (bull) instead of TONTO,
Cool! XD I didn’t know that.
This was the fourth episode of the series, originally telecast on October 6, 1949, and the first of several that DeForest Kelley appeared in. The opening narrator is “tough guy” actor Gerald Mohr, who was the announcer for the TV series in its initial seasons {“Be with us again next week at this same time, when General Mills brings you another exciting adventure. The Lone Ranger rides again!!”}.
I’m sure Kelley would thank you.
Yep, Spock’s cool and good-looking as well. He’s my second favorite.
I’m a long time Nimoy/Spock fan but I have to admit De really was gorgeous!
Glad you like it! =D
