@gracom1977 No. Michael Horse, who played Tonto, is American Indian of Yaqui, Mescalero Apache and Zuni descent.

Good thing the Lone Ranger had a Good friend with Him in Tonto. G guesses He really wasn’t a Lone Ranger but a friend on a painted horse.

@shadowr2d2 Thank you, shadow2d2! I also wish that the producers of “The Legend Of The Lone Ranger” had not sued Clayton Moore. Clayton was loved by so many as the Lone Ranger and the studio really made a big mistake in suing him. I am sure this led to the downfall of “The Legend Of The Lone Ranger”. Thanks for commenting!

Loved you’r Trailer. Better than the Movie Tailer. I wish the Movie Studio’s. Would not have Sued. The Real Long Ranger.

@careyleefisher I liked your video but this movie was an insult to the Lone Ranger and everything he stood for.

You did a better job in 1:58 than these, well, these buffoons did in their entire “movie”.

Personally, didn’t care too much for the movie. It was good but Klinton Spillsbury really stunk as the Lone Ranger. The outfit wasn’t great either. I do notice that this was Klinton’s only movie. The ending was truly the worst ever. I mean, afterall, it goes: “who was that masked man”? “He’s the Lone Ranger”. “Hi yo Silver away”.

¡El rescate de Toro es magistral!

I love this movie, although I wear out all the Clinton Moore DVDs found in the $5 or less section I’m always watching this on VHS and singing “The Man In The Mask”, and my kids always wonder why I throw a fit when I hear the William Tell Overture. Your video is a great tribute to this movie…Thank you for making it.

I especially loved the scene where the Lone Ranger is trying to ride Silver, and there is a shot of his butt as it rises up and slams down on the saddle. He even makes a grunt as his butt hits the saddle.

Well you’re in the minority. Most people agree it sucked.

i watched this movie over 1000 times when i was a kid and i still love the music

  19. leafyutube says:

This movie sucked. It’s almost like a mockery than a remake, an insult to the Lone Ranger legend. The Clayton Moore TV series was the best.

Loved this film when I was a kid..the John Barry Score is awesome. Wish we could hear Klinton Spilsburys orginal voice. It would be awesome if they ever make a dvd to have a no narration option cuz it sort of is embarrasing now. The only thing I don’t like about the movie now is that its too dark. And Awesome Video!!!!

An overlooked film…Problem was other than Jason Robards as U.S. Grant and Christopher Lloyd as Cavendish (he was on “Taxi” at the time and people didn’t know what to think) you needed a bankable name, and Clint Spillsbury wasn’t it, nor was Juanin Clay (lovely though she was) and the film has relegated itself to “CULT” status…

Continued… As stated, the studio made Mr Moore stop being the Lone Ranger and sued him. This did not sit well with his fans, and made people hate the studio producing the movie who showed their displeasure by boycotting the movie. As a film, I thought it was OK considering that I was not really a Lone Ranger fan. But the Score by John Williams is what got my attention, and in my opionion is what saved the movie. But it had good performances all around. Would like to have the soundtrack.

  24. P54cause says:

I was one of the few people who saw this movie when it came out, and I now understand why. After doing some digging, the studio dumb asses sued Clayton Moore, the original Lone Ranger who was appearing around the country as the Lone Ranger. He’s has been doing it for years with now problems, signing autographs, doing supermarket openings, that sort of thing and being a all around POSITIVE ROLE MODEL!! But the studio took exception to this and made him stop being the Lone Ranger.
