Richard H. Pratt Robert J. Wilke as Sgt. Wilks USA, Later half of 19th century. Amongst the soldiers accompanying a wagon in which Indian chiefs and leaders are transported there are two men, 1 who continuously rejects them and talks bad about Indian folks in general and the other, who treats them with respect. He’s aware that these males are forced to leave their countries in order to be settled somewhere else since the region is taken by white folks. They have not been consulted about where to go and when. Some of the Indian leaders go along simply because they know that there are hardly any chances to alter the government’s plans. 1 of the chiefs, Yellow Bear, does not agree, neither with their treatment which leaves small room for individual pride nor with the facts which do not ask for any of their personal wants. He opposes Wolf who tries to calm him down, but Yellow Bear takes a chance to escape together with some other braves. They take along riffles. When Wolf tries to convince him to give up, Wolf is shot. The soldier who’s attempting to build a relationship with the Indians and trying to arrange that the promises given to them are genuinely kept, tries too to convince Yellow Bear.
