spockvideo.com 1981 tv series starring James Arness.
In this clip from ‘Pioneers of Television: Westerns’ (2011) James Garner’s TV series ‘Maverick’ is looked at. It features an interview with Garner himself (he hasn’t done many in recent years) and also with the late, great Stephen J. Cannell who was profoundly influenced by the show and Garner’s performance in it. Stefanie Powers and Pat Crowley are interviewed briefly as well. Garner’s favorite and little known Western series, “Nichols” is referred to, but no clip is shown. A brief clip of “Support Your Local Sheriff” is shown, shamefully almost implying that it is from an episode of “Nichols.”
Muscular hunk James West (Robert Conrad) gets captured, chained, and caged by a crazed blind admiral, all the while showing off his muscled hairy chest and abs.

On March 28th, 2008 James Arness was interviewed on radio. The conversation covered a variety of subjects from WW2, Gunsmoke, to his individual life. I have included links to the sites discussed in this interview and I encourage you to check them out. I dedicate these videos to everyone that has to deal with Cerebral Palsy. It is truly a touching interview!
