This episode features Mayberry’s first actual death: Augusta “Gussie” Finch at 10:30 AM. Aunt Bee gives the Taylor’ address as 332 Maple Road. Colonel Harvey’s “Indian Elixir” is 85% alcohol. Andy says Aunt Bee is such a teetotaler that she will not allow even a fruitcake in the house, on account of “a brother she had.” Beatrice Taylor (commonly known as Aunt Bee) is a fictional character from the 1960s American television sitcom The Andy Griffith Show. The show was televised on CBS from October 3, 1960, until April 1, 1968. The character migrated to the spinoff Mayberry RFD (1968–1971) when The Andy Griffith Show ended its run. Note that though she was the aunt of Sheriff Andy Taylor, virtually every character in Mayberry called her “Aunt Bee”, regardless of whether they were related to her or not. Aunt Bee is the paternal aunt of widower Sheriff Andy Taylor and great-aunt to his son Opie Taylor. In the premiere episode of The Andy Griffith Show, “The New Housekeeper”, Aunt Bee returns to Mayberry after a five-year sojourn in Morgantown, West Virginia, when Andy’s housekeeper Rose marries and leaves his house.
