I know this is going to be stupid, but I can’t help but want to see it anyway.

The A-Team is an upcoming action film based on The A-Team television series, planned for release on June 11, 2010 by 20th Century Fox.[2] It is directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by The Scott brothers, Ridley and Tony Scott.[3][4] The plot will involve a shift from Vietnam to the Middle East, and both Jules Daly and Stephen J. Cannell, the creators of the original series, are involved in the project.[5]

According to writer Michael Brandt, the adaptation will be more gritty in the vein of Batman Begins, Die Hard, The Bourne Identity, and Casino Royale.[6]

Premise

Like the original series, the story follows the adventures of four U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers-turned-mercenaries, three of whom were arrested for a crime they did not commit and are now branded war criminals. After managing to escape from military prison, the three join forces with Captain H.M. Murdock, their reconnaissance pilot, as soldiers of fortune.

RIP Stephen J. Cannell

Master of Eighties TV

Stephen J. Cannell at his trademark typewriter

Stephen J. Cannell passed away recently from complications caused by his battle with cancer.  He was a major player in the television of my youth.  I grew up watching the Rockford Files, A-Team and many other of his shows.  He was a very talented writer and knew how to create intriguing characters.  He will be missed as we move forward with cookie cutter cop shows and mindless reality programs.
