The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo on the Gong Show. This was seen originally in 1976. This little treasure had been sitting on my shelf for years. I figured all old time Boingo fans may enjoy this. I still have about 25 stubs from all the Boingo concerts I saw, and never missed the annual Halloween show. I grew up in the 80′s blasting Boingo music while driving my car. Richard Elfman is in the rocket, and Danny is playing the Trombone. Thanks Oingo Boingo for all the years of great music, there was nothing like it on earth! Mark.

Of course. It’s Danny Elfman’s band. The same guy that did the soundtrack for Pee Wee’s Big Adventure and 99% of all other Tim Burton films.

Saw Oingo Boingo in concert but they were never this weird.
This was so entertaining on so many levels to me! Oingo Boingo was hilarious! I loved Buddy Hacket in the Music Man! I watched Sherri Lewis’ lamb chop show as a kid! And loved Bill Bixby in the Incredible Hulk! So it was fun going back in time!!! Thank you YouTube!
I love Oingo Boingo, but I f#cking HATED this. It has a lot to do with the 70s quiz show vibe and Buddy Hackett being 15 years past his prime.

Danny was definitely one of the trumpet players, he was right behind the host when they won.
