Back Jeremy, Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!
It was about 3am and I was 8 or 9 and I couldn’t sleep(28 now) and I decided to into the living room alone(all lights off) and watch TV. As I was flipping through channels, I stumbled across A&E and coincidentally Night Gallery was just coming on. I watched “The Cemetery”, and till this day remember how utterly scared I was. This 30 min short story is the creepiest story I’ve ever seen and I’m an 80s horror fan.
I concur with other comments. I remember seeing this for the first time as a young teenager, watching it with my mother. It scared the everliving bejeesus out of me and haunted me for years. Made it very difficult to babysit after that, because I lived in the country and every house I went to babysit in, was isolated and not near any other home. Great great movie, creating terror without the usual gore we see today.
Master Class story teller! The pilot (the episode) ended up being the best of the entire series. The rather spoiled nephew here later played Peter Vincent, Vampire Hunter in the classic ’80s Fright Night movies.
She’s in another of the short stories, each hour long episode usually had three different segments.
This is the best of the series, everyone always remembers this one.
I’m 18 now and my dad had me watch this for the 1st time when I was about 10 or so, I’M STILL SCARED!!! This is the first time I am watching this since I was 10

No this use to be on TV it was like Twilight Zone but darker and scary. Something you might find of interest .This episode The cemetery was written by Richard Matheson of I AM Legend fame and What Dreams may Come the movie with Robin Williams. He also wrote other Night Gallery and Twilight Zone short storys
I watched night gallery every Wednesday night back in 1969-70 but this particular episode really fucked with me, I was actually scared to go to sleep,Our dog barked most of the night,a real eerie night.
@Liucilla I never would have guessed that either. He looked much taller on TV, but what a writer he was. He left us way too soon, but he was definitely one of the early pioneers of television.
Too bad Mr. Rod Serling left us way too early =( he had such genius in his writings. I bet he would have had many more series hits such as these and Twilight Zone. Thanks for posting. =D
Roddy McDowell is so adorable!
