My memory may be going, but I remember hearing this also on Captain Kangaroo in the late 50′s and early 60′s. Thank you for putting this up so future generations can enjoy it too.

@hialeahkid The impact of this show back then can be best seen in the movie “Catch Me If You Can” where the family rushes down to the TV set in time to watch and sing along…and family bonds are strengthened in the process…this is just what it was like back about the time you were born….

I went to my little cousins Christmas concert yesterday and the kindergarteners sang this song… has been stuck in my head ever since ….

I sang this song in 2nd grade. Now I am in 4th. This is a cute song.*They should make little kids sing it instead. Not grown men. I do still like the song. I don’t really like this verson. Make older laddies or kids ( like I said sing this song )! I feal like the men have berds that sing this song.

@foolintherain100 I personally think the little girl’s voice adds a LOT to the tune. Makes it better!
