@fromthesidelines Thanks for the additional info! I’ve added this back to my 1965 playlist of 120 songs. I’ve tried to build a music archive like none other, covering the best music of the past century. 112 of my 700 playlists cover every year since 1900 so you can listen like you’ve stepped back in time. I went to the World’s Fair right before this show came out! Hope you stop by. chuck
Incidentally, associate producer David Davis, with co-creator Allan Burns and one of the series’ writers, James L. Brooks, later worked on “THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW”. Chris Hayward, who had previously worked with Allan Burns for Jay Ward on “ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS”, ‘THE BULLWINKLE SHOW” and ‘FRACTURED FLICKERS”, later wrote for “BARNEY MILLER”.
This series lasted a full season (30 episodes) on NBC’s Tuesday night schedule at 7:30pm(et) during the 1965-’66 season. The unforgettable theme was written and sung by Paul Hampton [the "singalong" title, with the lyrics flashed on screen, was seen only in the pilot episode].
Herman
Herman Munster referrenced this show once. LOL!
I remember this show. The critics who called it terrible were correct.
Thumbs up if you came here because of Arrested Development.
That car married KITT from Knight Rider in the 80s.
This is perhaps one of the best title sequences I have ever seen!
