Buyer Beware,
My one-star rating is purely on DVD quality – the film itself is a minor comedy classic and you probably know what you’re in for if you’re interested in buying this item. The transfer is 1.85:1, NON-anamorphic and looks slightly worse than the Region 2 version available from Amazon UK. The cover is not the design shown on this page and the images used are also of low quality and stretched (anamorphically, ironically) to fit the shape of the package – Not impressed at all, I’m afraid. My particular DVD arrived rattling around loose in a damaged keepcase and with the shrink wrap barely attached (the Amazon outer package was undamaged). The disc was covered in annoying scratches, which fortunately didn’t affect playback. The only reason I didn’t return it to Amazon is that it’s the only Region 1 version available and I already traded in my R2 disc in anticipation of this version. At $16.99 preorder price, it feels like a rip-off and at the current price of $21.99, I say Buyer Beware! The “studio” listed on Amazon is Jef Films, but the copy I received was from Wham! USA. Ouch!
