   This is the season when Knots Landing execs thought the show started as a sinking ship but ended up with upper hand, with the successful introduction of Mack Mackenzie (Kevin Dobson) to the cast & Karen especially, & changing the format which basically erased all traces of the 4 original couples who established the show by season’s end.
