WOW 4 releases of Have Gun-Will Travel in 11 months!,
CBS Paramount, THANK YOU for continuing the releases of Have Gun-Will Travel at a very fast pace…..this will complete season 5 and may I suggest you release season 6 in one set, as there are only 32 episodes… so the loyal fans can finally have all 6 seasons by spring! That is my wish for 2011…Paladin, you are the greatest!
UPDATE: Very satisfied with this release, pristine for 1962

|When good was good and the bad guys knew it!,
I grew up with the OLD westerns, They all were great but “Have Gun Will Travel” was the best. Not only did Paladin know how to use his gun but only as a last resort. He would try to reason or talk his way out of a fight before resorting to gun play. As in all of the OLD westerns, The good won over evil, bullies were put in their place and the women was held in high regard!!
I believe that season 5 has some of the best story lines and acting of all the Have Gun Will Travel episodes (I have all 5 seasons)I also believe that Richard Boone was one of the best actors that Hollywood ever produced!!
Now when my grandson comes over for the weekends, We pop some popcorn and I pull out the Have Gun Will Travel DVDs, then we sit back and watch Paladin do his thing!

|Still a good show but a definite slippage of quality stories,
By the time Season 5 (1961 -62) of HGWT aired, there had already been 156 episodes of HHGWT (of seasons 1 -4) which were aired (1957 -61) and it would be tough to maintain the same high quality of storyline. Sadly although there are a number of fine episodes in season 5 (“The Hanging of Aaron Gibbs” and “The Waiting Room” being two), the show had definitely started to jump the shark. I guess that was inevitable but it still was a fine TV show and if it had slipped,it had only done so in comparison to itself. The same thing happened to Rawhide – it had run out of story lines. Still, for fans of the show it is worth purchasing the complete set.
In my opinion the best seasons (in order) were seasons 2, 1, 3, and 4.
