This montage of Guiding Light clips is of characters that are pushed to their breaking points. Every person reacts differently… some cry, some result in violence, although other people go crazy. Watch and see if you remember these characters and the times that the tension was just too significantly for them to take. (This is the March addition… I hope to add a new video every month. Stay tuned!)

thanks for making this. Would be nice to see more from the 70s and 80′s if you have it
This was fun watching. What memories. I do so much miss watching Guiding Light. I watched it for 35 years. I.m hoping and praying they could make a movie and close up some lose ends they left. I also look forward one day to own every single season of GL on DvD.
We’ve just seen Alan get shot at his and Doris’s wedding, in the UK, but we don’t know it was Ashley yet. Well, I do, but thats because I was / am a huge GL fan and watched it in US time too. So great to see some old clips.
does anyone know where i can see that whole episode with roger and holly on youtube, i have been looking for it for a while. If anyone knows please tell me i’d really appreciate it.
Too much of the ugly years (post-1994), not enough of the great ones.
Thank you so much – lived in canada fron 87 – 91 and adored Guiding Light especially Philip. Came home and missed it terribly now after all these years I find it on You Tube and there are still guiding light fans in the world. Someone tell me what happened the last few episodes were so cheap comapared th the 80s or is that just me?? Anyway I loved this thanks again for a happy trip down memory lane. x
love the Jonatahn clips, and Ben I loved him
I’m sorry but didn’t Lillian do some serious running across the room when she saw Holly & Roger Fighting. Poor Blake, she never really remembered seeing her parents “Happy”. I think sometimes she sabotaged her marriage to Ross because she never felt she deserved to be “Happier” than her parents.
You know the fight scene with Roger & Holly would have been perfect on a British Soap Opera because unfortunately, fights always take place. A betrayal, a film, a confession, etc. Eastenders & Coronation St. have always done classic shows like this.
thanks
I love so much about this!
Been sadder than I knew that Guiding Light would be off the air. I turn the TV off in its place.Top 2 soaps now areYR and BB. Maybe because the vision has remained constant by the Bell Fam. Stories are woven with old characters coming bk, which is why soaps were so good. When the new regimes started axing favs they blew it.Some fav came back, why didn’t you bring them back sooner nd put a great story together for the whole cast that would incorporate them.I am watching youtube now rather than TV
7:09-7:16 is wonderful!!!!
good job!!! that was exciting to watch..
Absolutely AMAZING! Thank you so much for this video! Wow…GL will always be the BEST daytime drama in my book–(With Y&R coming in a close second). I will miss GL with all of my heart. =’(
I remember the Holly & Roger scene like it was yesterday. However, I couldn’t understand why Ed said: “Keep Your Hands Off The Child”. Also, don’t you notice that even as a little boy, Ben Reade was always trying to get into Grown Folks Business.
Thank you for the stroll down memory lane. It’s criminal that this great show has been canceled. Let’s hope that that its replacement, “Let’s Make a Deal” languishes at the ratings basement. I know I won’t bother watching. Long live Guiding Light!
Fabulous Job! The music really works with the clips. Bravo!!
Damn! Josh doesn’t take any crap.
It just proves a point that Guiding Light has the best daytime cast because AMC keep stealing people from Guiding light.
Guiding light, make there own talent, AMC takes other people talent.
AMC sucks then and it still sucks now, the writing became so bad to I dont even watch it any more, I turn to Days of our lives and keep it there.
Guiding Light
Days of our lives
is way better then AMC, and why did Rebecca come back to play Greenlee if she didnt stay 1 year??? AMC sucks

God, what a scene that was!! I remember the one with Holly & Roger so vividly. So many things have changed since then. Michael Zaslow is dead (RIP). Rick Hearst is on GH, Rachel Miner (Ex-Michelle) was married to McCauley Culkin, The Actor who played Dr. Charles Grant is now on Commericals and Ross is now Clint on OLTL. How times have changed.
this was wonderful to see.
Didn’t mean to post twice, sorry. One other thing, though, do try to include in a future vid. on same theme scenes of Roger’s kidnapping of both Rita (the originally Hall of Mirrors scene are quite frightening) & Holly (original Santo Domingo scenes are also frightening). Also some of the scenes of Soni/Solita in late ’80′s, Diane Ballard’s 1981 murder (head bashed in), Eve Stapleton McFerrin’s 1981 stalking & if you can find Lucille Wexler’s 1980 “murder” would also be good.
You should have had for the caption right before Brent Lawrence as Marian Crane, “And sometimes … BOYS WILL BE GIRLS”! -:)
You should try for some scenes of Josh before Reva returned in his life, from October 1981 – December 1983, especially w/ Morgan, Hillary, Kelly, Nola & Floyd (I have the 1981 Christmas Eve 1981 ep. on vid. & what I’m about to write is never more true of Josh in that ep.) — thought of Josh Lewis being minister then would have sent shivers up the audiences’ spine.
