Gene Gene, the Dancing Machine, you are always Number One!!!
This makes me want to dance every time I hear it!! I loved the Gong Show and I’m pretty sure Chuck was zonked out of his mind for most of them. That’s what made it fun!!!!
Brings tears to my eyes to watch and remember the fun!!

@LadyNightthorn I wasn’t saying it was good…I was just saying it existed. The best thing the Attell show did was introduce me to the band Cookie Mongoloid.
@johnnyhorror92182 On an off chance I went to iTunes and searched “Gong Show” and I got 4-5 entries of the Attell version. AWFUL!!!! Not funny, ugly, nasty. I could go on. Nowhere near Chuckie’s wonderful show. Hopefully, someday the original will come back to us, cable TV or DVD. I’m sure I’m not the only one waiting.
we don’t need to have the gong show come back – we have Americas got talent. However the last series should have been called America don’t have much talent.

I was visiting the NBC studios about 6 years after the Gong Show went off the air. As we were touring, I walked by this guy in the hallway and said “I know that guy from somewhere.” After we left, I figured out it was Gene Gene the dancing machine!
Thank you so much for sharing this hilarious video! It always makes me laugh! Naturally, I’m obligated to dance around the room waving my arms much to the chagrin of anybody nearyby. lol (Dry Martinez is hilarious, too) Too bad we don’t have this stuff today. Oh wait … it’s called politics. lol
I saw a rare sight at the time no stuff thrown onto the stage while gene gene is dancing.
