This was the tape Sony used to sell advertisers and cable operators on Game Show Network a couple years after the network went on air in 1994. Narrated by Pat Sajak, it gives a tour of GSN, Sony and talks about the revolution that was 24 hours of game shows and interactive television. Apologize for the video, but it was sent to me on a trade.
I wish Game Show Network were still like this
They now lease them (and other shows) by seasons b/c of GSN’s part-ownership by Liberty Media, hence their practice of showing a particular season until it’s run into the ground.
I don’t why I get sort of emotional during the music at the end.
if they have several seasons of Whhel and Jeopardy, WHAT THE HELL are they DOING rehashing they same ones OVER and over.
Hm, I guess GSN had the entire 21st season of TPIR in its vaults at this time, you could see a clip of Edrie from the March 4, 1993 show at 4:41. I heard that GSN got so far as airing the week of Christmas shows from that season.
They got TTD; now they need this! Maybe all B-E gameshows for that matter.
Let’s hope they bring back Joker’s Wild!
It warms my heart to see so much love for my favorite genre of television. Game Shows.
R.I.P. Peter Tomarken
We still miss you after 2 years.
No, this was shown to cable executives and advertisers, by Sony, to gain interest in putting the channel on cable systems and gain advertising. Obivously, it was done a little while after the network had been launched.
Laura Chambers of Club AM appeared on a lot of game shows herself. (Sale of the Century, Scrabble pilot, and Tic Tac Dough, to name a few.)
7:05- Do you recognize that woman? As if I didn’t know.
And was this actually aired as an informercial?
On 4:47, looks like someone didn’t make it!
Make that 19 hours a day.
All Night Long is the song…I wonder if Steve Perry could make a version called 20 hours a day.
I saw it! Took me three hundred years to pass it up though! (Insert Boos)
Boy, GSN Live is a 100% remake of Club A.M.
“there are thousands and thousands of episodes of wheel of fortune and jeopardy and i have seen every one, except for the jeopardy shows” lol. pat always cracks me up.
i would love to see the tape library in person (you have to admit, it looks pretty damn huge.)
i think any1 who watched the pitch tape already knew that betty white had been on a game show.
A channel all about game shows, pitched by two game show hosts
And Price Is Right as well!
Game Show Network was great! Until they stopped airing Hollywood Showdown & 3′s A Crowd, It was the best
They are bringing back Wheel along with Tic Tac Dough on January 7th!
i wish GSN should bring back Wheel of Fortune.
RIP Peter. You lived a long and healthy life.
