lol I know, I think this may be the apex of the “rap” craze from the mid-late 80′s. I remember watching this film when it released and loved this song.
Looking back it’s awful. This may be the WHITEST rap ever made. Even worse ten Informer by Snow.
That said, for camp value it’s hard to beat. Right up there with Billy Ocean’s When the Going Gets Tough, from Jewel of the Nile, and Vanilla Ice’s Ninja Turtle Rap.
Its hard to underestimate how terrible this is

Tom Hanks suddenly really really reminds me of Will Smith! I’m not referring to the singing, I’m referring to his whole early to mid eighties persona. I never noticed the similarity before.

I think when Tom made enough money. he destroyed every copy of this song in existence, minus the movie. Too bad there’s YouTube.
Brings me back, but quite a terrible song….the cool baphomet masks are the only aspects that justify existance of the video itself.
This is probably the greatest thing Tom Hanks has ever done.
I wish the 80′s were back. Back music was real, movies were worth seeing and actors were still acting. And everyone actually enjoyed them. When MTV decided that the “M” wasn’t just for music anymore, that is when I knew that things were getting bad.

Tom Hanks needs to go back to comedy. I hate actors and musicians who venture away from what made them famous. it is ok to try different things but when they forget where they came from, that really pisses me off!
