It’s from the Preamble to the Constitution – “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” I wonder how much reading Alejandro did in English?

In French history, we call “The Eagle’s flight” Napoleon’s journey from Golfe Juan to Paris (March 1st-20th 1815) after he escaped Elba. The period of his return is called the Hundred Days (March 1st – June 18th 1815)
So, that’s an awfully Declaration of Independencey/Constitution Preabley thing that Don Alejandro is reading…in Spanish California…in 1820…long before the US got involved there.
