For all of you who aren’t familar with The adventures of Brisco County Jr, it’s okay. I’ll let it slide seeing as though it has not ever been very popular and has been taken off the air years ago. I grew up watching Zoro on Friday nights and at some point in the early 90′s Rin Tin Tin (which was on after) was replaced by Brisco. My family and I were hooked. It is an awesome combonation of pop-culture comedy, gun slingers and outlaws.
The show is based on an amazingly convienent killing of Brisco County SR., by a large gang of outlaws. The fact that you don’t actually see their faces and that you can’t quite tell how many of them there is, makes the series work, because in every episode, Brisco Jr. goes after each one of the gang members in turn, and brings justice.
Also a plot line is that Brisco is constantly looking for the “coming thing” which pops through in the form of blimps, motorcycles, orbs, time travel, hamburgers, drive through windows, and much much more. Making a happy combonation of a down and dirty badly acted western, and sci-fi themed goodness.
Adding to Bruce Campbells awesomely perfect syling is his “parner” Bowler (huh huh huh..) and Pool, his contact and friend. As well as many reacuring characters like Dixie, and the Professor.
You have never watched classic television until you have watched this series. It is a must for everyone who enjoys a good smart laugh, highly predictable plots, horrible early 90′s graphics, cowboys, bounty hunters, evil villans from the future, and the occasional cheering for who I deem Comet the Wonder horse.
